Las Vegas Dental Crowns
Crowns may be a viable tooth restoration procedure if you have a broken or damaged tooth. Both Dr. Peter Balle and Dr. Tate Guild can determine whether you are a good candidate for dental crowns when you come in for a consultation.
Dental crowns are a tooth-shaped cap that will fit tightly over your natural tooth to cover and protect it. Dentists usually place dental crowns to restore the size, appearance, and strength of the tooth structure. Crowns can fix a number of issues associated with the tooth by covering the part of the tooth that sits above the gum line.
Consultation for dental crowns
When you visit a regular dentist, getting dental crowns typically takes two office visits. However, when you visit Balle & Associates, you have access to the CEREC system, which only requires one visit.
First, Dr. Balle or Dr. Guild will prepare your tooth for the crown. Then, they will take a set of X-rays to ensure that the root of the tooth and surrounding bone are healthy enough to support a dental crown. If the tooth has been decayed into the nerve, a root canal may be necessary before a crown can be placed.
Also, your dentist will check the health of your gum tissue. Having healthy gums will ensure a secure fit and will enable us to proceed with the permanent cementation of the dental crown.
Same Day CEREC Crowns
Chairside Economical Restorations Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC) is the new and advanced method for dental restoration. When you come in for CEREC crowns, we use a CAD system to design your crown in-house. With this system, we have greater control over the shade and design facets of your new dental crown.
Balle & Associates is home to certified CEREC dentists, meaning we are at the forefront of the most advanced dental restoration procedure. CEREC dentistry delivers the highest quality and most lifelike tooth restoration, with the distinct advantage of only requiring a single visit.
The innovative dental crown procedure utilizes ceramic materials that are designed to match the color of your natural teeth. The procedure for CEREC in Las Vegas provides a refined, custom-made dental crown, onlay, inlay, or veneer right in the comfort of our office.
Dr. Balle or Dr. Guild will examine the tooth structure to determine your best treatment option. What differs from a standard dental crown consultation is the optical impression of the tooth. Instead of filling a tray to make an impression, your dentist will take a digital picture of the affected tooth with a special camera.
Arguably the best part of CEREC crowns is that you will not need to wear temporary acrylic crowns for weeks until your permanent crowns are completed. Instead, the CEREC machine will create a restoration for your tooth. The CEREC 3D software will take a digital picture and convert that into a 3-dimensional virtual model on a computer screen. Within minutes, the restoration data is sent to a separate milling machine where an all ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is created.
