The Dental Crown and CEREC in Las Vegas
Exam and Preparation
Dr. Balle will examine the tooth structure to determine your best treatment option. This may involve something as simple as a filling or something as extensive as a full dental crown, depending on how much healthy tooth structure remains. Next, Dr. Balle will administer some type of anesthetic to prepare your teeth for the restoration process, and may involve removing decayed and weakened tissue or existing filling material..
Dr. Balle will then take an optical impression of the tooth. Instead of filling a tray to make an impression, he will coat the tooth with a non-toxic and tasteless powder. Next, he will take a digital picture of the tooth with a camera. This process only takes about a minute or two.
Dr. Balle will use the CEREC machine to create a restoration for your tooth. The CEREC 3D software will take a digital picture and convert that into a 3-dimensional virtual model on a computer screen. Dr. Balle can then use his training and expertise to create a restoration using the CEREC 3D computer software program. Within minutes, the restoration data is sent to a separate milling machine where an all ceramic, tooth colored restoration is created.
