MISSING TEETH? BRIDGE THE GAP

Bridges are designed to bridge the gap between one or more missing teeth and are typically comprised of two or more crowns fused together and attached to the surrounding teeth.

Partial Dentures and Dental Bridges

If you are missing teeth and need a viable, aesthetic tooth replacement procedure, set up a consultation with Dr. Balle or Dr. Nguyen to learn more about dental bridges in Las Vegas or the partial denture procedure. Dental bridges are designed to close the space left by one or more missing teeth and involve the custom fabrication of a series of crowns that are fused together to span the gap that remains. It is extremely important to your oral and general health to replace missing teeth as soon as you can. A dental bridge can restore the aesthetics of your smile and also improve the functionality of the mouth. Patients who undergo this procedure are able to eat and speak properly as a result. A bridge can help to maintain your facial features so that the cheeks do not sink into the area where you are missing teeth. A bridge can also help to even out the bite force by replacing missing teeth and prevent the teeth from drifting out of position over time.

Procedure for Dental Bridges

Just like a dental crown, the procedure for dental bridges may take up to three office visits. During the first visit, the teeth that serve as the abutments are prepared for crown placement. Dr. Balle or Dr. Nguyen will need to remove some of the enamel on each tooth to make room for the crown material. After the tooth has been reshaped, he will take an impression of the area. This impression is used to create a custom bridge. We will make a temporary bridge for you to wear to protect the exposed teeth and gums while the permanent bridge is fabricated. The manufacturing process typically takes about three weeks.

During your next visit, Dr. Balle or Dr. Ngueyn will check the health of the tissue since healthy gums are essential for the cementation of the bridge. If the gums were not healthy enough to take the impression at your first visit, then it will be taken today.

On your final visit, the bridge will be tried in and permanently cemented in place.

Procedure for Partial Dentures

If you have multiple missing teeth, particularly on the same arch, and dental bridges are not a viable option for you, then you may consider a removable partial denture.

To begin the procedure for partial dentures, we will take an impression of both arches in order to create models of your existing tooth and gum structures. These models will be sent to a special dental lab where your custom partial denture will be fabricated for you. After about three weeks, you will return to Balle & Associates so that we may try in and deliver your new appliance.

Missing teeth should always be replaced as soon as possible, and we can accomplish this by creating a detailed treatment plan designed exclusively for you. If you are interested in learning more about partial dentures or the procedure for dental bridges, set up your consultation with Dr. Balle or Dr. Nguyen today!
